Welcome to Blue Skies Center for Women
Thank you for choosing us to provide your OB/GYN care. We hope that you will be satisfied with all aspects of your visit with us. To better serve the needs of all our patients, we have developed the following guidelines to help our patients understand how our office operates and what you can expect from us in fulfilling your needs.
Our doctors and nurse practitioners see patients by appointment only. Please call to schedule your appointment. Our phone staff and nurses can assist you with scheduling routine as well as urgent same day appointments when needed. You may want to print and fill out our forms prior to your appointment to save time when checking in, especially if you are a new patient.
We strive to offer our patients appointments within the following timeframe from when you call us:
- Emergencies — same day
- Urgent problems —within 24 hours, but normally the same day
- Non-urgent problems —within one week
- Follow-up appointments — within one to two weeks or when specified by
- Annual GYN exams —within two weeks to one month
Appointment Reminders and Missed Appointments
As a courtesy, we do give appointment reminder calls the day before your appointment. If you must cancel your appointment, please give us as much advanced notice as possible. We request at least 24 hours notice, but we do realize that there are certain circumstances in which 24 hours notice is not possible. We also mail out appointment reminders to our patients for annual exams to help you plan your wellness care.
After Hours Emergency Care
If you have an emergency, you must go to the emergency room. If you feel you are in labor, please go directly to Labor & Delivery at Memorial Hospital Central. Our on-call medical providers are accessible 24 hours a day. If you need to speak with someone after hours about an urgent problem, please call our office number at (719)471-3471. This will connect you with our answering service; they will contact the provider on-call to call you back. Please keep in mind that the on-call provider will return your call as soon as possible, but that this may not be immediate due to the possibility of caring for other patients in the hospital. If a return call is not received within thirty minutes, please call our office again. If you have an urgent or emergent problem, please go to the urgent care facility or emergency room that is contracted with your insurance plan.
Prescription refills are done during normal office hours. You may print and fax or mail us your refill request using the prescription refill form. You may also call for a prescription refill by speaking to one of our nurses. Your pharmacy may also fax or call the office. Please allow at least 24-48 hours to allow us and the pharmacy to process your request, so that you do not run out of your medication.
Our office accepts most insurances. Some insurances do require a referral from your primary care provider prior to your visit. Also, some insurance plans may not cover certain medical services. Please check with your insurance carrier or call our office with any questions regarding insurance prior to your appointment.
